My Story
East Mancunian author. I Retired in 2015 having worked in many different types of employment ie Engineering, General labouring, Asphalting, outside the law, Brewery drayman, Smithfield Market Salesman and finally Probation and local Government working with recovering alcoholics and drug users. I have experiences in life accumulated through perseverance and excellent advice from those with something to say. I believe we need to add colour to the grey palette of existence because just surviving is never enough. I am the last born of 14, 10 of whom still survive spread far and wide across this great country of ours. I voted remain in the referendum and love all sports. My mother lived into her 94th year but failed to inform me that she had 7 other children until I was 15 and they had tracked her down. Step-brother Gerry was a Button-boy at Hms Ganges in the 1950's, look it up and be prepared to watch his performance from behind the settee, Brother James enlisting in the Navy circa 1959 at the same place, unaware Gerry even existed. Fred Goodwin, who many blamed for the 2008 economic crash and Grant Mackintosh aka Mr Paisley are both cousins of mine. I have 3 grandsons, Dylan recently attained his Masters in English at Sheffield, Ross is into his 4th year studying medicine at Leeds Uni, and the Youngest, Nathan is attending college setting out on his journey into the unknown. Love life and embrace information.

I have now entered my 73rd year and thankfully still enjoying my writing. I have just completed my 4th book and the locale is once again East Manchester, but could well be any working class ex-industrial district in the world. Abbey Hey where I live is constantly referred to as a deprived area, especially by Journalists, Reporters and shamefully Manchester Councillors. I would opine we are neglected, but then again my opinion is only required every Polling day.
